British Summer Time Hyde Park has seen some of the globe’s biggest stars and acts take to the stage in one of London’s most beloved parks, and 2024 will be no different.
The festival has announced the first headliner for next year’s festival.
The first act to be confirmed is Italian superstar Andrea Bocelli
The classical tenor, who has also ventured into pop, will perform Friday, July 5. He will be the first classical artist to headline the London summer festival.
The exclusive UK show comes at a milestone year for Bocelli as 2024 marks the 30th year of his career.
Bocelli said: “Hyde Park is the perfect place for coming together to celebrate my 30th anniversary and reimagine it as a springboard propelling us into the future.”
In his 30-year career, Bocelli has performed for popes, prime ministers and royalty at some of the greatest concert halls and opera houses around.
This incudes performing at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee at Buckingham Palace in 2022 and Olympic Games ceremonies.
One of classical music’s greats, Bocelli has a Golden Globe, seven BRITs and seven World Music Awards under his belt. He also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The festival dipped its toe into classical music this year with All Thing Orchestral with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
The evening hosted by Hear’Say’s Myleene Klass and featuring Alfie Boe as a special guest was created with the aim to make classical music more accessible.
All Thing Orchestral was part of a stellar line up of gigs that was scheduled across June and July.
Other acts included P!NK, Guns N’ Roses, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Billy Joel and Lana Del Rey.
Tickets to see Andrea Bocelli in his exclusive UK 2024 performance will go on sale on Wednesday, November 15 at 10am at bst-hydepark.com
