Doubling of flats among Camden’s planning applications UK News

The applications have all been submitted to Camden Council over the past seven days in the Ham & High readership area.

The council is currently reviewing each application made and has yet to make a decision on any of them.

Here are a selection of applications submitted between December 5 and 10:

Amendments are being made to a seven storey building plus a basement for student accommodation in Stephenson Way, Regents Park ward.

Rooms will be on the upper floors with shared amenity space at the ground and a terrace on the sixth floor 

The application (2023/4524/P) is to expand the basement to allow a plant room underneath and approved car ramp. 

Also in Regents Park ward is an application to convert a property in Camden High Street from four flats made up of three two-bedroom flats and one one-bed, to eight flats comprising two two-bedroom flats, and six one-bedroom flats ( 2023/4561/P).

Plans for a mansard roof extension above existing second floor and the erection of a second floor rear extension are also in the plans.

Over in Fortess Road, Kentish Town (2023/4928/L) there are plans to convert a self-contained bedsit flat into self-contained one bedroom flat.

In The Mount Square, Hampstead, plans are for internal alterations to the ground and lower ground floor rear apartment (2023/4810/L) .

Alterations include the replacement of existing stair, joinery alterations, reconfigurations to bathrooms and kitchen, rewiring and re-plumbing throughout.

The creation of a freestanding garden room in a back garden in Gainsborough Gardens in Hampstead will see all existing original window frames retrofitted should the application be approved (2023/5202/L).

Also planned are external restoration works, the repointing of the entire building with mortar and the installation electric underfloor heating system throughout.

In South End Green there’s an application for the addition of a new plant unit at ground level on the facade facing Wentworth Mansions.
