Runners and runners in the race for the Covid vaccine Business

Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Moderna have obtained approval for their Covid vaccines from the UK regulator and the vaccines are already being rolled out. But what about other candidate vaccines and how soon will they hit the market?

Our list offers a glimpse of what the vaccine landscape looks like.

The response of the life sciences industry to the pandemic has been unprecedented both in terms of the speed at which it has developed vaccines and its willingness to collaborate with its rivals. This has resulted in 237 potential vaccines, 64 of which are in human clinical trials.

This is great news because in the vaccine industry there is often no one-size-fits-all solution, with different countries requiring different types of vaccines based on a range of variables such as climate, land mass and demographics. In other words: there is a lot of room in the market for more than one vaccine.
