European Super League: Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp opposes breakaway competition – and was not ‘involved’ in plan UK News

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said he had not heard of the European Super League before it was announced – and maintained previous comments in opposition to the idea.

Speaking on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports, Klopp was asked about comments in 2019 in which he said he hoped such competition “never happens”.

He said his opinion “has not changed”.

“People are not happy, I can understand that – but I can’t say much more about it,” he said ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League game against Leeds tonight.
