DCI Metropolitan Police Crime Specialist Perry Benton said: “Every piece of information can be vital, so I continue to appeal to anyone who knows anything and to any witnesses who have yet to speak to the police to come forward.

“I assured Fares’ family of my full commitment to bring those responsible for this senseless murder to justice.

“They will be supported by specialist officers at every stage of what will be a terrible ordeal for them in the weeks, months and years to come.

“This remains a quick investigation and there will be further developments.”

Police were called at 4 p.m. and found Fares, also 14, stabbed wounded.

He was pronounced dead shortly thereafter and a post-mortem examination revealed the cause of death from stabbing.
