The fire department was called shortly after 9pm this evening to the industrial unit behind the White Rose pub on Handsworth Road in Handsworth.
A spokesperson for the fire department said four devices were currently at the scene along with a turntable ladder.
They added that no one was in the building.
In a photo shared with The Star, thick black smoke can be seen rising from the building.
