Police discovered the body of a man at the Conisbrough Viaduct yesterday and an investigation has been launched. The man has been named locally on social media as Ian Grice, who is considered a father of two.
Tributes have already been paid to Mr Grice after his death.
Natasha Louise Hunter wrote on Facebook: “RIP Ian. You left two children, your wife / ex-wife, your new girlfriend and your whole family.
“I just wish you had had some help for the sake of your children, but your demons have taken over. I hope you are at peace now, big brother.”
Tasha Babiecakes Wilkes wrote: “RIP BRO! We will make you proud to love you! “
John Devine simply posted “RIP Ian” while Sarah Louise wrote: “Rip mate … I’m absolutely in shock … can’t believe it …”
Debbie Culshaw wrote: “My condolences to all her friends and friends” and Sarah Marie Yates added: “How sad. Rip hopes you are at peace now.
Mick Debenham added: “Rip Ian what a **** world we live in.”
South Yorkshire police were dispatched to the viaduct yesterday morning.
Police have not officially disclosed his identity and the force-confirmed investigations are still ongoing.
A spokesperson said: “The officers received a call at 10.58 am on Monday April 26, with reports that a body had been found in the Conisbrough Viaduct.
“Officers assisted and recovered the body of a man and investigations are currently underway.”
