Roads to and from a petrol station on the M1 are expected to be closed overnight from the end of the month.
A notice from Highways England in this week’s edition of Barnet Borough Times outlines plans to close access routes to and from London Gateway Services to allow work to be carried out including street lighting, electricity and drainage.
The work is expected to take about four weeks, starting on or after Monday, May 17.
Closures will take place between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. (maximum period) and affected traffic will be diverted via other M1 junctions and using the A406.
The bypass route will vary depending on the closures in place.
Meanwhile, an extensive roadworks program across Barnet for next year is expected to start from Monday.
The London Borough of Barnet published plans for the road resurfacing and repair program in last week’s edition and confirmed the order had been placed for work to continue.
Work is due on these roads on the dates indicated this month:
Edward Road: (the worst section) Margaret Road to Henry Road – May 10 to May 11. Detour: Revoke the one-way system on Edward Road to allow traffic to flow in both directions.
Churchmead Close: Church Hill Road until May 11. Detour: No passing road.
Cedar Lawn Avenue – May 12 and 13. Deviation: non-crossing road
Woodbery Gardens – May 14. Detour: Ballards Lane (northbound), right Christchurch Avenue, right Woodberry Way and vice versa. Woodberry Way, left of Christchurch Avenue, left of Ballards Lane (southbound).
Russell Gardens: from Russell Road to Russell Gardens – May 17. Detour: No passing road.
Simmons Close: Simmons Way to end – May 18-19. Detour: No passing road.
Colin Close: from Sheaveshill Avenue until the end – May 20. Detour: No passing road.
Poolsford Road: From New Way Road to end – May 21st. Detour: New Way Road, Lynton Avenue, left Colindeep Lane, Clovelly Avenue. New Way Road, right Sheaveshill Avenue, right Colindeep Lane, Clovelly Avenue.
Holders Hill Gardens: B552 to Holders Hill Drive – May 24-25. Diversion: Holders Hill Road, Holders Hill Drive and vice versa.
Woodstock Avenue: A502 to Hamilton Road – May 26-27. Diversion: Golders Green Road, Highfield Avenue, Hamilton Road and vice versa. Wessex Gardens, The Ridgeway, Armitage Road, Golders Green Road and vice versa.
Hoop Lane: Finchley Road to Golders Way (the worst section) and Golders Way to Golders Green Road A502 – May 28. Golders Green Road, Ravenscroft Avenue, right Finchley Road, right Hoop Lane and vice versa. Finchley Road, right Golders Green Road and vice versa.
