Greggs urgently recalls that he fears it contains glass UK News

Greggs has issued an urgent product recall on some of its frozen pastries, fearing they may contain glass.

The high street bakery chain recalls its frozen vegetable pastries because they “may contain pieces of green glass”.

The Greggs Vegetable Cakes (pack of 2) were immediately removed from shelves in Iceland as the possible presence of glass made the product unfit for consumption.

The pastries are sold exclusively in Icelandic stores and the recall does not affect products sold to Greggs.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) warns: “The possible presence of glass makes this product unfit for consumption.

“This product is sold exclusively in Icelandic stores and does not affect products sold in Greggs.

“Point of sale notices will be displayed in all Icelandic stores.

“These notices tell customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have purchased the product.”

The Food Standards Agency said the recall involved 280g packets of two vegetable pastries with expiration dates of August 15, 2021, August 28, 2021, September 11, 2021, September 12, 2021 and September 26. 2021.

FSA recall warns, “If you bought the above product, don’t eat it.
