Major disruption reported across large parts of UK rail network | UK News

Major disruptions were reported today across large parts of the UK rail network.

The London North Eastern Railway told passengers on Saturday “please do not travel” after services were delayed or canceled “due to an issue under investigation”.

Great Western Railway has also reported a “network-wide service disruption today”, with some of its intercity express trains being pulled for “precautionary checks”.

Hull Trains said services on its entire network could be canceled, with disruptions expected until the end of the day.

The company said: “A number of Hitachi 800 series 800 series trains from several rail companies were taken out of service today for precautionary checks.

“This issue is being investigated by Hitachi and once the trains have been checked we hope to be able to get them back into service as soon as possible.

“This could affect a significant number of our services and passengers should check in before traveling.”
