Men accused of vehicle theft in Hertfordshire UK News

Six men have been charged in connection with an investigation into dozens of high-end vehicle thefts in Hertfordshire.

They were arrested after a warrant was executed in East Herts on Friday May 7, following a long-standing investigation by the gendarmerie tactical resources team and colleagues from the Serious and Organized Crime Command .

The men have all been charged with conspiracy to steal (between November 6, 2020 and May 7, 2021) and using devices to interfere with wireless telegraphy (between November 6, 2020 and May 7, 2021).

Investigators have so far linked 44 breaches to the series, committed in Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Essex, London and Surrey – including 30 in Herts.

Three “cutting shops” have also been identified, where stolen vehicles are dismantled so that the parts can be sold or used to repair other stolen vehicles.

The Herts offenses were committed in Watford, Berkhamsted, Borehamwood, Croxley Green, Cuffley, Hatfield, Potters Bar, Sawbridgeworth, St Albans and Welwyn Garden City.

The men charged are:

Marijus Mickeliunas, 25, from Barnmead Gardens, Dagenham
Davidos Astravas, 32, from Rosemary Gardens, Dagenham
Arturas Navikas, 37, from Lambourne Crescent, Chigwell
Martynas Kuzma, 19, from Welling Road, Orsett
Andrius Semenkovas, 31, from Welling Road, Orsett
Yuozas Velicka, 20, of Welling Road, Orsett

All six have been remanded into custody and are due to appear before St Albans Crown Court for a pre-trial hearing on Monday June 7th.
