Data from Public Health England (PHE) shows cases more than doubled in the UK in May.

The first week of May saw 520 cases and 793 more this week, for a total of 1,313.

Some of these cases have emerged in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, where authorities have detected 35, 11 and 12 infections.

But most of these cases have settled in England, around the Midlands.
