Closures for works in the Barnet district from next week UK News

Motorists in the Barnet area could face disruption in the coming weeks due to temporary closures for road works.

Notice from the London Borough of Barnet in this week’s edition of Barnet Borough Times detail the affected roads, starting Monday.

Coleridge Walk is expected to be closed for five days from Monday to allow for the installation of a new water connection. However, the restrictions will only apply from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.

Longer-term water hookups mean Alderton Way will be closed to vehicles for 21 days from 8 a.m. on May 31.

The alternate route for motorists will pass through Alderton Crescent and Vivian Avenue.

This work will also affect Rundell Crescent, which will be closed between its junctions with Vivian Avenue and Alderton Way.

However, this closure is only expected to last for seven days from 8 a.m. on May 31.

The alternate route will again pass Alderton Crescent and Vivian Avenue.

The replacement of the main gas lines means that traffic will be halted in the Highview Avenue area for 13 days starting June 1.

While the work is taking place, these restrictions:

Do not allow traffic to enter Edgware Way from Highview Avenue.

Prohibit vehicles from entering the northernmost section of Highview Avenue from Highview Avenue (the southernmost section of its junction with Highview Gardens) or Highview Gardens.

Introduce a one-way, north-to-south system on Highview Avenue, between its junctions with Edgware Way and Highview Gardens, for vehicles to travel southbound only.
