Prison for armed thief who ‘shamelessly terrorized’ women with gun during raids on Sheffield store UK News

Ricky Goacher arrested a pawnshop and a barber in two raids in Sheffield on the same day – threatening workers with an imitation pistol.

After pleading guilty to two armed robberies and possession of a fake firearm, Goacher was jailed for seven years and seven months for the incidents.

Detective Constable Yvonne Fairbrother said: “The first incident happened at a pawnshop on Angel Street in the city center, where Goacher entered the store and pointed a black handgun directly at the store. seller.

“Fearing for her life, she ran screaming to the back of the store to alert her colleague. The two women locked themselves in a reserve, before calling the police. Goacher was captured by CCTV inside the store and fled the scene.

“Shortly after, police were alerted to a second incident at a hairdresser on Fulwood Road, where Goacher demanded money while wielding the same handgun.

“In this second incident, Goacher threatened the barber who had met him at the door, telling him to be quiet and hand over the money.”

Goacher was arrested a few days later for unrelated offenses and was identified as the theft suspect.
