COVID-19: Over 60 million doses of vaccine administered in UK, says Matt Hancock | UK News

More than 60 million doses of the vaccine have now been administered in the UK, says Matt Hancock.

The health secretary tweeted the news, describing it as a “huge day” for vaccinations, with a total of 762,361 vaccines issued across the country yesterday.

“This is a fantastic step in our fight against this virus,” said Mr Hancock.

“Thank you to everyone who is part of our national effort. When you get the call, get the blow.”

It comes as the UK has recorded five more coronavirus-related deaths and 2,235 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24-hour period, according to government data.
