Cricklewood Millennium Green is looking for help UK News

A green community run by volunteers is calling for help to maintain “the peaceful space.”

Rabia Lingemann, Trustee of the charity, said: “This is a unique green space in the region that serves a diverse audience, where visitors young and old can come and enjoy this peaceful space nestled in the heart of Cricklewood. ”

“We are completely dependent on our wonderful volunteers to help us cut the grass, pick up the litter and empty the trash cans.”

The community is seeking help from garden designers, carpenters, greenery enthusiasts and volunteers to help them revive and maintain Cricklewood Millennium Green.

The assistants will be involved in the final plans to reinvigorate this community space and have a say in its future.

Ms Lingemann added: “We are also looking for help in raising funds for this common end goal.

“Today more than ever, our community needs its green space.

“As we begin to drop lockdowns and see the end of the regulations against social contact, it is vital that we have such a space to bring people back into the community and get them active again!”

On May 19, the Mayor of Barnet, Cllr Caroline Stock, went to see how the community space is managed by the charity The Cricklewood Millennium Green.

Cricklewood Millennium Green is part of a national program which operated in 1999 where the National Lottery gave a park to 245 local communities in England entrusting them with its management on the condition that the land is still kept as a green space without a plan to construction. he.
