A man in his 60s has been stabbed multiple times while sitting in his car in Bedford.
The man was stabbed in the chest and neck while in Maitland Street around 4 p.m. on Saturday, Bedfordshire police said.
He was taken to hospital but his condition was unclear on Saturday evening.
A 21-year-old man was arrested in connection with the attack and remains in custody.
Chief Detective Inspector Marie Gresswell said: “We are working to establish the circumstances of this incident and are following several lines of investigation.
“We believe this was an isolated incident with no risk to the general public, and our agents remain on site to reassure residents and listen to their concerns.
“We would also like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time and who has dashcam footage, CCTV or information, which could assist us in our investigation.”
