M5 traffic live: third crash and medical emergency causing 90-minute delays Bath City News

Motorists heading south from Bristol and Somerset to Devon and the southwest face huge delays after a series of incidents.

The latest incident occurred in a southerly direction from junction 20 for Clevedon to junction 21 for Weston-super-Mare, causing delays of up to 90 minutes with four and a half miles of congestion.

Highways England has warned drivers heading south to plan ahead.

Two lanes are blocked.

There would also be a medical emergency on the same section as well as a broken down car.

The M5 in Devon was reduced to one lane on two separate sections after incidents this afternoon.

There was a collision involving an overturned car and a trailer just after exit 27 for Tiverton (A361), which had closed lanes one and two. This has since been clarified.

Further south, a southbound car and van collision results in delays from Junction 28 for Cullompton and services to Junction 29 for Exeter and Honiton. At one point, all traffic was blocked. Channels 2 and 3 remain closed.
