The Metropolitan Police Commissioner defied calls for resignation after allegations the force was “institutionally corrupt”.
Dame Cressida Dick said she had “no intention of resigning” after a damning report was released on Tuesday into the unsolved ax murder of a private investigator Daniel morgan in 1987.
A independent investigation found that the force had prioritized protecting its own reputation over pursuing Mr Morgan’s killer.

The 37-year-old was killed in the parking lot of the Golden Lion pub in Sydenham, south-east London on March 10, 1987.
But Dame Cressida has defended Scotland Yard’s work and its work, insisting she has not hindered the work of the panel investigating the case.
And the Met chief insisted she was an “honorable person,” adding, “If I thought I should consider my job, I would, but I don’t.”
The force admitted in 2011 that the original murder investigation – which saw the crime scene without a search or surveillance – was hampered by corruption.
But the panel concluded that the corruption continued after the first investigation – and asked why no action was taken to bring to justice those who sabotaged the investigation.

The panel, led by Baroness Nuala O’Loan, said: “Covering up or denying flaws, in the name of the organization’s public image, is dishonesty on the part of the organization for the benefit of its reputation and constitutes a form of institutional corruption. “
