Camp in the air with this incredible ‘Tree Tent’ on a Somerset farmhouse with heated pool and spa Bath City News

Many of us are looking for something different for our vacation this year.

If we can’t visit another country, we may feel like trying something new or unusual – like staying in a tent in the trees on a farm in Somerset.

This tree tent is available for hire, it is a spherical hideaway for two, high among the trees on a family farm in Somerset, with exceptional views over the Mendip Hills.

A short walk from the iconic town of Glastonbury, Pennard Hill Farm is a friendly, working farm in the heart of the rolling Mendip Hills.

You can spend hours in the treetops with your room a few meters away

But this is no ordinary farmhouse, there is a heated pool and spa treatments on site.

What better way to get away from the grueling demands of everyday life?

Peacefully suspended between two trees, the tree tent is a magical getaway for a couple or an individual who needs fresh air and downtime.

And with no WiFi or electricity in sight, you can reconnect with nature or with each other without any distractions.

The bedroom capsule is furnished with a double bed, soft LED lighting, and a wood-burning stove that will make cool evenings ridiculously comfortable.

The room in the tent in the trees is incredibly cozy and comfortable

During the day, all you have to do is fold the bed into a sofa and cross the rope bridge to the spacious terrace seating area, beautifully nestled among the trees.

It includes a fully equipped kitchen, hot-water shower and private toilet.

Here are some opinions:

“It was my childhood dream to live in a real treehouse! The place is absolutely fantastic: comfortable, well-built, spacious, clean, quiet and romantic – an amazing couples getaway. The perfect glamping vacation. The tree tent (where you sleep or snuggle together) is a tent after all, but it is the most comfortable tent I have ever stayed in. It also feels very safe and does not sway too much. The rest of the accommodation is a fantastic little house under the trees with a modern kitchen, toilet and shower with hot water on demand. Overall the place is clearly built and carefully prepared. Highly recommend roasting marshmallows on the fire for your dinner or dessert! “

“The tent in the trees is an amazing experience in every way. After the lockdown it was the best escape we could have asked for. Lying in bed with the fresh air, the chorus of dawn and a cup of tea, after sleeping under the stars (through the roof window) was amazing! A lovely hot shower while being in the trees was a great feeling and the whole place is designed so brilliantly. Despite the weather changing, we had so much fun cooking and roasting marshmallows on the campfire and enjoying our own secret tree house. Highly recommend to anyone who loves the countryside and wants a different break! “

“We had a wonderful stay at the Tree Tent! Pippa was friendly, helpful and provided lots of local information. It was such a unique place to stay – the novelty of it all made it so special. Accessed the indoor pool which was beautifully done. The log burner in the tent meant a good nights sleep, and the adjustment of the outdoor fire was a perfect setting for long evenings. The place has real rustic charm – we will definitely be back.
