Alto is located on the top floor of Cubo – the new modern coworking and private office destination in the refurbished four-story building at 38 Carver Street – and first opened today (Thursday, June 24).
The contemporary and relaxed venue has an outdoor rooftop terrace with stunning views of the city center and beyond, as well as a VIP area, DJ booth, built-in seating areas and a range impressive range of drinks, beers, cocktails and dishes.
The roof terrace in particular will add new dynamics to Sheffield’s social scene and it is hoped that it will be a popular spot throughout the coming summer months.
Cubo and Alto are both the creation of Marc and Rebecca Brough – under their parent company Staton Young. They have already opened both brands in Nottingham with huge success, and since the lockdown measures have been relaxed, Alto Nottingham is practically full.
“We are delighted to announce the opening of Alto Sheffield this summer. We want to offer a fantastic space with a great atmosphere and bring a whole new social center to the city center ”
“Our new bar is ready and ready to go. We look forward to welcoming everyone. It’s been a tough year for restaurants, bars and the entire hospitality industry so it’s great to finally be able to see our vision come to life, ”said Rebecca.
While tenants and members of their Cubo workspace can enjoy the bar in an instant, Alto will also have a separate public entry point and elevator to the fourth floor.
This is the second bar to open in recent weeks as part of Heart of the City – the £ 480million scheme run by Sheffield City Council and their strategic development partner, Queensberry, the first being The Furnace which opened in Charter Square.
Councilor Terry Fox, Head of Sheffield City Council, said: “We are delighted to see another exciting venue open in Sheffield city center this week. It has been a difficult year for everyone, so it is especially nice to see such a large social space opening up for our residents and visitors and another fantastic new addition to Sheffield’s evolving cityscape.
Andrew Davison, Project Director at Queensberry, added: “Heart of the City brings renewed dynamism to the city of Sheffield, creating a lasting and exciting mix of workspaces, residential, commercial, social and cultural, as well as world-class public spaces. We’re very excited to see Alto opening up to the public and building on the success of the Managed Workspace, which is almost 50% occupied. The rooftop bar activates the skyline and creates a new socializing destination that we can all enjoy.
