Bedfordshire Hospitals Trust cares for 21 Covid-19 patients in hospital Bedford News

The Bedfordshire Hospitals Trust was caring for 21 coronavirus patients in hospital on Tuesday, figures showed.

NHS England data shows the number of people treated in hospital for Covid-19 at 8 a.m. on June 22 was down from 22 on the same day the previous week.

The number of beds at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust occupied by people testing positive for Covid-19 has increased by 62% in the past four weeks – as of 28 days ago, there were 13.

There is no other split between Bedford Hospital and Luton & Dunstable Hospital.

Across England, there were 1,301 people hospitalized with Covid as of June 22, including 229 in mechanical ventilation beds.

The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalized nationwide has increased by 70% in the past four weeks, while the number of mechanical ventilators has increased by 96%.

The figures also show that 25 new Covid patients were admitted to the Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust hospital in the week to June 20. That figure was up from 24 in the previous seven days.
