The five-week closure of a road next to Brent Cross Shopping Center is scheduled to begin Sunday.
the Barnet borough hours announced last week that a section of Geron Way was to be closed to allow for the construction of a new footbridge to the Brent Cross station development. This closing order, necessary to allow the crane to navigate, has now been returned.
The road is expected to be closed between its junction with the access to the north parking lot of Brent Cross Retail Park and a point approximately 210 meters southeast of the junction while construction is in progress.
The order will begin Sunday at 12:01 am and is expected to run for five weeks. However, the restrictions will only be in place from July 4 to July 16 and from July 29 to August 2.
Meanwhile, traffic using Highview Avenue faces long disruptions starting at 8 a.m. on Monday July 12 due to gas line replacement work.
This should last 25 days and, during the construction period:
Prohibit vehicles from entering Edgware Way from Highview Avenue.
Prohibit vehicles from entering the northernmost section of Highview Avenue from Highview Avenue (the southernmost section of its junction with Highview Gardens) or Highview Gardens.
Introduce a one-way, north-to-south traffic system on Highview Avenue, between its junctions with Edgware Way and Highview Gardens, for vehicles to travel southbound only.
Queens Parade Close is also expected to be closed for three days from 8 a.m. on Thursday, July 15 to allow for the installation of a new water connection.
