John Deere GX Gator stolen from East Grinstead Cricket Club Brighton News

This is the moment a thief runs away with a stolen stroller from a cricket club – police are currently investigating.

Officers broadcast video of the stolen utility vehicle on the grounds of the East Grinstead Cricket Club.

A suspect can be seen pulling away from the ground on Saint Hill Road, riding the distinctive green John Deere GX Gator.

Police described the theft as a “big blow” to the club, which is run by volunteers who use the vehicle on a daily basis.

They are appealing for any information that could help catch him following the theft on the evening of Thursday, June 10.

At the time, the Gator was used to carry irrigation pipes and had been left alongside the cricket ground for a short time.

The key had been removed from the ignition, but the thief was able to start the vehicle and remove it from the scene at around 9:20 p.m.

The suspect was seen around the corner next to a sign for the Church of Scientology at Saint Hill Manor.

He was seen turning on West Hoathly Road towards Weir Wood Reservoir – but it is not yet known where he went after that.

A police spokesperson said: “The loss of the vehicle is a big blow to the volunteer run club as it has been used almost daily throughout the cricket season for pitch preparation.”

The suspect can be seen wearing a cap, jacket, shorts and sneakers in CCTV footage released by police today.

Anyone who saw the Gator driving in the area that evening, who recognizes the driver or has information on the location of the vehicle is asked to report online or call 101 quoting serial number 208 from 11 / 06.

East Grinstead Cricket Club has four senior men’s teams, one women’s team and a number of junior teams competing in Sussex.

John Deere is an American company that manufactures agricultural, construction and forestry machinery, including tractors.

The company is well known for its distinctive green vehicles which sell for tens of thousands of pounds.
