An RAF flypast is scheduled for Wednesday at Barnet to celebrate the Puma’s 50 years of service.
Several helicopters are expected to fly for most of the day tomorrow from several locations in England, according to military air shows.
He indicates that the helicopters are to fly from RAF Benson to RAF Scampton between 10:00 a.m. and 11:49 a.m., then RAF Scampton to Middle Wallop from 1:30 p.m. to 3:34 p.m., then Middle Wallop back to RAF Benson from 5:00 p.m. to 6:31 p.m.
According to the schedule, they are due to fly over Hendon around 10:40 am, but times may change due to weather and other tasks.
The first Royal Air Force Puma helicopters entered service on January 21, 1979.
The Puma, a medium transport support helicopter, has carried out combat and humanitarian operations around the world for the past five decades, including in Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan, Mozambique and the Caribbean.
The helicopters have also supported Defense in the UK, including providing helicopter transport capacity for flood and coronavirus pandemic relief efforts.
