The Star reported on Friday night that the Owls are considering a move for the QPR winger, with Moore known to be looking for at least one wider player ahead of the start of the 2021/22 season.

The Owls are believed to be considering a loan for Shodipo, who excelled in League One with Oxford United last season, but at this point it remains to be seen if his current club would be ready to let him go.

Talks are believed to be underway on multiple fronts as Moore looks to attract new faces ahead of their first competitive game against Huddersfield on August 1 – with Renedi Masampu on trial and Tolaji Bola also seen as a potential option at the ‘to come up .

With Shodipo, he is a player who would certainly be well received by Moore… With his experience in the league, his apparent desire to play in League One for the boss of the Owls, and the fact that at 24 he is no longer a young, it is potentially an attractive option for SWFC.

The winger – who can play left or right – had 11 goals and two assists as Oxford reached the League One Play-Offs last season and would certainly bring another dimension to the Owls’ offense, especially since Josh Windass and Andre Green are the only senior players who have played off in the current squad.

Youngsters like Charles Hagan and Korede Adedoyin have reportedly impressed so far in the pre-season on Wednesday, but neither have much first-team experience heading into the opener against Huddersfield Town in the Carabao Cup and Charlton Athletic in the league.
