Singer James Blunt has announced that he will perform in Brighton next year.

The You’re Beautiful singer is scheduled to perform at the Brighton Center on February 3, 2022, as part of a new tour of UK arenas.

The newly announced concert coincides with the release of James’ greatest hits album, The Stars Beneath My Feet, which will be released on November 19.

During his 17-year career, the singer-songwriter recorded 23 million album sales, two Brit Awards, two Ivor Novello Awards and five Grammy nominations.

The 30-song album will feature a series of hit singles, as well as four new songs – Love Under Pressure, Unstoppable, Adrenaline and I Came For Love.

It will also feature four exclusive live performances from around the world, including the Glastonbury Festival.

Reflecting on his career, James said it came as a surprise that he released a most successful album at the age of 47.

“I wanted to call it Greatest Hit (And Songs I Wish You’d Heard) but the good folks at Atlantic Records suggested I call it something more sensible, so it’s called The Stars Beneath My Feet “he joked.

“If you ever wished that James Blunt had only ever released one album, this is this album.

“To celebrate its release, I’m going around the world all next year. I can’t wait to see you then.

Brighton will host the opening night of the tour before it moves across the UK.

Ahead of the tour, James and his band have a number of rescheduled dates to play, including a night at the Royal Albert Hall on July 23 – the first full-capacity concert on site as part of his 150th birthday celebrations.

Tickets are priced at £ 35 and will go on general sale from 10am on 23 July.
