Costa Coffee is the next big name to be hit by supply chain issues. This follows in the footsteps of Nando’s, McDonalds, KFC and Greggs who have all issued statements regarding the share issues.
In response to a tweet from customers questioning the lack of decaffeinated coffee beans in various stores, Costa replied, “We are currently facing supply chain issues. We are working hard to resolve this issue as quickly as possible.
Earlier today, Greggs also announced that they are facing supply chain issues, with chicken reserves that are hard to find.
The Nando were similarly affected last week. With the supply of chicken in high demand, Nando’s was forced to close stores across the country.
Nando’s has since reopened.
We hereby declare the official return of PERi-PERi chicken to all Nando’s restaurants. Winner winner, chicken dinner on the menu. #ChickenIsBack pic.twitter.com/6HesE5W2dI

The lack of truck drivers across the UK is contributing to supply chain issues, with McDonald’s supply of bottled drinks and milkshakes also affected.
Supermarkets such as Co-op are also facing shortages, with bosses saying food shortages are at their “worst level.”
Logistics UK said there are currently 90,000 truck drivers short, a number that was only increased by Brexit trade rules and COVID-19 restrictions.
