CAROLINE Lucas expressed deep concern over the lack of details regarding the resettlement program for refugees fleeing the Taliban takeover in Afghanistan.
In a letter to Foreign Minister Dominic Raab and Home Secretary Priti Patel, the Brighton Pavilion MP said she had received numerous calls from UK citizens and Afghan refugees worried about their family members eligible for the program but unable to join the evacuation flights. Out of the country.

She said: “Contrary to his assertions, the prime minister must be clear that there are still scores of people in Afghanistan who are eligible for resettlement but have not been assisted.”
His letter criticized the lack of clarity regarding the upcoming resettlement program for Afghan refugees, explaining that the “few details” have made people more anxious about the options family members will have to seek asylum.
Ms Lucas called on the government to speed up the cases of Afghan nationals seeking asylum, add siblings and relatives to the family reunification route so that Afghans can join existing family members in the UK and ensure that people are not criminalized or denied refugee status when making their own trips to seek asylum in the country.
His letter comes the day after a terrorist attack outside Kabul airport that killed 90 people, including 13 US servicemen, and injured 150 others.
The Afghan branch of the Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack, which follows warnings from Western governments of an imminent threat from the terrorist group.
Defense Secretary Ben Wallace has announced that no other person will be called to the airport to leave the country as the UK enters the final stages of its evacuation from Afghanistan.
He told LBC Radio that up to 1,100 eligible Afghans would be left behind, along with around 100 to 150 British nationals, some of whom chose to stay on their own.
