Police confirm dog killed after dog attack in Borehamwood UK News

A dog died after being attacked by another dog in Borehamwood, police said.

Police also confirmed that a German Shepherd was seized after investigating reports of a dog attack in the town this morning.

Agents were called to Hackney Close on the Farriers Way estate just before 8.45am (August 27).

A small dog was seriously injured and subsequently died.

This is the second dog attack in Borehamwood this week after an incident on Wednesday. Police link the two incidents.

Hertfordshire Constabulary has confirmed, following investigations, that a German Shepherd has been seized and a 52-year-old man has been arrested under the Dangerous Dogs Act.

Inspector Gemma Badat said: “We received several calls this morning from residents who were understandably worried and upset by what had happened.

“Officers have been in the area for much of today and our investigations are still ongoing.

“The dog suspected of being involved was seized and a man arrested in connection with this incident and another incident on Wednesday August 25 where it was reported that a dog had attacked another dog causing injuries important and injuring a member of the public in the process.

“We are aware of comments on social media about the circumstances surrounding these incidents and as one arrest has been made we would politely ask people to refrain from speculating in public forums.”

Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to contact 101, citing criminal reference 161 of August 27.
