HUNDREDS of people are expected to flock to the waterfront this weekend as temperatures of 21C hit the coast.

People from across the county should head to Brighton and Hove seafront to soak up some sunshine this bank holiday weekend.

The period of good weather comes in the middle of a sunny summer which made the season about a degree warmer than average, potentially placing it in the top 10 hottest UK summers on record.

Photos of the waterfront this morning show dozens of people flocking to the coast ahead of the weekend.

Dozens of events are also taking place in Sussex this weekend, including food fairs and music festivals.
