The South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said it had dispatched the crews to deal with a fire on Effingham Street, where they are currently at the scene.
A spokesperson said: “It is believed to be a fire in an abandoned building and there is a fairly large plume of smoke.”
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and more details are expected to be released later.
