Motorcyclist fights for life in hospital after pickup truck collision in Northumberland UK News

A motorcyclist is in critical condition in hospital following a serious van accident in Northumberland.

Police were called on Saturday shortly before 4:20 p.m. to report that a motorcycle had collided with a black pickup truck on military road B6318 near Heddon-on-the-Wall.

Emergency services attended the scene and the 59-year-old motorcyclist was rushed to hospital where he remains in life-threatening condition.

The driver of the van was not injured in the collision.

Northumbria Police have launched an investigation and officers are now calling for witnesses to the incident.

Sergeant Russell Surrey, of the force’s motorized patrol department, said: “Our investigation is ongoing and we are gathering information to paint a picture of how the collision happened.

“If you were driving on military road B6318 at 4:20 pm this afternoon and saw a black Peugeot van and a Triumph motorcycle, please contact us.

“We are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or may have images from the dash camera to contact us.”
