30-year-old man died on M5 in “serious incident” Bath City News

A man died in an accident on the M5 in Devon.

Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed the death following the collision on the southbound carriageway between Cullompton and Exeter last night (Sunday August 29).

The man, who is believed to be in his 30s, died in the incident, between Junction 28 and 29, at 8:45 p.m., Devon Live reports.

Officers have been called to report concerns about the well-being of a person seen on the roadway of the M5.

It was also reported that a collision had taken place between the person and a car.

The air ambulance also attended the scene, where the man was confirmed dead shortly after.

Police said his relatives had been informed.

M5 was closed on site to allow emergency services to intervene and conduct investigations. The road was reopened in the early hours of Monday August 30.

The incident came before a day of incidents on roads in the Somerset area, with a welfare concern also being reported near Bridgwater this morning.
