Sheffield Police to push classic car 12 miles in epic charity challenge UK News

On Sunday, September 12, the Walkley and Hillsborough team will complete 40 laps of a 500m circuit pushing a 1960s police car, on loan to the team from the National Emergency Services Museum.

In a final show of teamwork, they will take turns pushing the vehicle around Owlerton Stadium on Penistone Road, all to benefit local charities with the aim of raising £ 1,000.

Two-thirds of the money will go to the Bears of Sheffield and Sheffield Children’s Hospital charity, with the remainder going to the National Emergency Services Museum.

On Sunday, September 12, the team will complete 40 laps of a 500m circuit pushing a 1960s police car, which was kindly loaned to the team by the National Emergency Services Museum.

Sergeant Simon Kirkham said: “Like everyone else, we have noticed the fantastic bears all over town – we love them very much and have agreed to give back a little to the charity they represent!

“The Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity is close to everyone’s hearts and a truly vital service to the communities of South Yorkshire.

“Many members of the team have personal experience of the fantastic work the hospital does.

“We’re totally ready to be in agony the day and after, but it’s for an incredible cause… and at least it’s a flat course!

The 10-person team is made up of officers and PCSOs from the North West Sheffield Neighborhood Team.
