Car destroyed by fire in the M5 fire Bath City News

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called in for a vehicle fire on the M5 in Bridgwater on Sunday evening (September 5).

Two city fire crews witnessed the incident on the emergency lane and safely extinguished the flames – after motorway officers and police in Devon and Cornwall closed the road for secure the premises just after 6.30 p.m.

A firefighter was wearing a breathing apparatus and used a hose reel to extinguish the fire.

The car was completely destroyed by the fire, the cause believed to be accidental, fire departments said.
