23-year-old man died in car crash on Moore Street, Sheffield, police confirm UK News

The single-vehicle collision happened early in the morning on Moore Street, near the Waitrose supermarket next to the inner ring road.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: ‘Police were called at 3:41 am today to report a single vehicle collision in Moore Street, Sheffield.

“A 23-year-old man was taken to hospital but sadly died shortly after his arrival. The other two occupants of the vehicle were slightly injured.

The accident happened in the early hours of the morning on Moore Street.

“Anyone with information is urged to call the police on 101 citing incident number 149 of October 3.”

The end of Moore Street was cordoned off with police tape today, blocking access from both the sidewalk, the road and from the nearby pedestrian underpass.

A large black tent had been erected at the scene as traffic police investigated the site.

At least four police cars were present at the scene and officers were seen enforcing the cordon, with members of the public being turned away after crossing it.

A black car had collided with the guardrails that separate the road from the curb, causing severe damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle.

It also emerged that a lamppost had been knocked over in the accident.

Firefighters from the South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and Ambulance Teams from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service were also at the scene earlier, but both services have now left the scene.

It was one of two serious crashes in Sheffield last night when a driver was injured in a collision on Middlewood Road, Hillsborough. This incident happened around 9 p.m. on October 2 and saw emergency services called to the scene to free the man from the taxi using special cutting equipment.
