See the massive Cunard Queen Elizabeth luxury cruise ship docked at Tyne Harbor UK News

The vast cruise ship MS Queen Elizabeth eclipsed its surroundings when it docked in Tyne Harbor today.

The 294m-long ship called at Tyneside at North Shields as part of its 12-night cruise of the British Isles.

Operated by the Cunard Line, the QE is capable of carrying over 2,000 passengers and is renowned for its Art Deco interior elegance.

The ship arrived early Sunday morning and departed the same evening, with those on board getting to sample the sights and sounds of the North East while the locals had a chance to enjoy the latest incarnation of Queen Elizabeth.

The ship is the latest in a series of impressive cruise liners to visit Tyne Harbor – the Disney Magic made several stops last month as it wrapped up a sojourn tour.
