Officers from the South Yorkshire Police Operational Support Unit had a busy night on Saturday 11 December after making arrests for drunk driving and drugs and witnessing other incidents in the area .
The force confirmed that five people were arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and one on suspected drug driving.
They have also been called in for four separate incidents on the M1, A1M and Sheffield Parkway involving drunk pedestrians walking along the pavement and have witnessed a number of traffic collisions.
The SYP Operational Support Unit said: “Saturday night = busy!
“Five arrests by us for drunk driving and one for drug driving.
“We deployed in 4 separate incidents on the M1, A1M and Sheffield Parkway involving drunk pedestrians walking along the pavement and also witnessed a number of RTCs. And much more.
