Shame on Sadiq Khan as he is booed at a party because of the tube strike in London | United Kingdom | News UK News

Sadiq Khan attended the 2022 BandLab NME Awards ceremony which took place at the O2 Academy in Brixton on Wednesday. He was asked to present the UK’s best solo act and shared the stage with rapper Ghetts, who taunted him about the congestion charge. The crowd booed the mayor as soon as he took the stage, then heckled him as he spoke.

During his brief appearance on stage, the Mayor of London addressed the pandemic, telling the audience: “Can I just say – after the horrible two years we’ve had, you look gorgeous tonight!

What Ghetts joked: “It’s because of the congestion charge.”

People shouted “boo” at Sadiq Khan at that time.

The mayor continued: ‘I’m trying to send a message to Boris Johnson: this is how you have a safe and legal party.
