ITV still without a villa for new Love Island series, boss confirms UK News

ITV is still looking for a new villa to host the next season of Love Island in Mallorca.

Recent runs of the popular dating show were filmed at a property near Sant Llorenc des Cardassar in the east of the Spanish island.

However, he reportedly became unavailable for the next series, prompting show bosses to look elsewhere.

Kevin Lygo, ITV’s Chief Media and Entertainment Officer, spoke about the matter during a briefing after the release of ITV’s annual earnings.

He said: ‘We don’t own it, we rent it out and we’re picking out a new house for this summer so it’s all secret. It’s gonna be wonderful.

When asked if the show will stay in his longtime Balearic Islands home, he replied: “Yes, it will be in Mallorca. It’s going to be a great (series).”

The show, now hosted by Laura Whitmore, was a huge hit for ITV2, and the first winter series, shot in South Africa, aired in early 2020.

Love Island returned to Mallorca last year after a summer off due to the pandemic, with Liam Reardon and Millie Court crowned winners.
