Officers are appealing for witnesses following a collision involving a Renault Clio and a Vauxhall Astra on Water Lane, Angmering at around 1am on Friday March 11.
They would like to find a man and a woman who left the scene after the accident.
Police say they fear she may be injured due to damage to her vehicle.
The vehicles have since been recovered from the scene and investigations are ongoing.
Anyone who knows those involved or has other information, including dash cam or video doorbell footage, is urged to report it online or call 101, quoting Series 41 of 03/11 .
