THERE are many reasons to love living in our amazing city.

From paddling in the sea at low tide to rummaging through the vintage and antique shops of North Laine, Brighton is, in many ways, the perfect place to live.

And that’s why we asked Argus readers what they would miss most if they had to move.

Many readers said they would miss the sea air and long walks along Brighton Beach.

Lee-Ann Taylor said: “The sea, especially the smell of salty air mixed with the smell of donuts baking on Brighton Palace Pier.”

Many readers said it was the “uniqueness” of the city and its people that they would miss.

Joan Olsen, who left Brighton for Denmark ten years ago, said: “I miss everything. The people, the atmosphere, the buzz and Broad Street, where I lived.

Sam Rider Scothorn said, “I would miss the uniqueness and individuality of people.

“No matter what you wear or what you look like, nobody cares. I would miss the sound of the sea, The Lanes and of course friends and family too.

Nicola Jebbit said: “I moved in 2020. I miss the quirkiness of Brighton and the fact that you can walk past someone dressed as a wizard walking their cat and no one would bat an eyelid.”

Other readers have shared their own unique and personal responses.

Lorraine Hof said: “I would miss the Robin Hood pub and football at the Amex.”

Sue Bradley said: ‘I moved from Brighton to Barrow-in-Furness 34 years ago. I miss Churchill Square and Saunders Park.

Suleyman Tosun said he would miss many aspects of Brighton life if he had to move.

He said: “I love Brighton. I would miss the seafront, the marina and the events. The clean air is another reason and the nice, polite people.

“Green and white taxis are another reason, and the University of Brighton, where I studied.

“Finally, the football club and the fans.”

But our favorite response was from Dan De Leon, who said: “I would definitely miss the Argus.
