Keighley & Worth Valley Railway Steam Gala Weekend in Pictures Yorkshire News

And the splendor of an old steam train rolling through the lush green fields of West Yorkshire can be seen in this collection of images, taken by award-winning Yorkshire Post photographer James Hardisty.

They come from the Steam Gala Weekend organized by the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway (KWVR), which took place this weekend along the line.

The KWVR is a five-mile branch line and runs trains through the heart of Bronte Country, between Keighley and Oxenhope, with stops at Haworth, Damems, Ingrow West and Oakworth.

Keighley station and the railway were featured in Netflix’s period drama The English Game, which was also filmed in Saltaire and Bradford last summer, while the line will also feature in the remake of The Railway Children. The original was filmed there in the late 1960s before its release to critical acclaim in 1970.
