Deus showcases electric hypercar concept ahead of New York debut Car News

An Austrian-based automaker has unveiled the name and a preview image of its “ultra-limited” and “high-performance” all-electric hypercar, which will debut at the New York Auto Show.

Deus Automobiles, headquartered in Vienna, will introduce the Vayanne (pronounced vy-ahn) on April 13 at 2 p.m. (6 p.m. in the UK).

Developed in partnership with Moncalieri-based Italdesign and Williams Advanced Engineering (WAE), the company says the model features a design language inspired by “symmetry and infinity”.

Deus says the car will aim to “stand out in the increasingly competitive hypercar sector”, offering a combination of “innovative concepts in terms of luxury performance and exclusivity”.

There’s no indication of what kind of electric powertrain will underpin the car, but Deus has revealed a preview of what appears to be the model’s lightbar.

Deus said Italdesign provided “strategic and technical support” to integrate new technologies, while WAE provided advanced and electrification technologies.

Last year, Italdesign and WAE began offering companies a set of “turnkey” high-performance electric vehicles.

The two companies claimed that the architecture would be suitable for crossovers, sedans and GTs, created from recycled composite materials and aluminum.

WAE Business Development Manager Dyrr Ardash suggested it had the potential to support cars that would be “top notch in terms of dynamics and mass”.
