Jewish worshipers had eggs thrown at Edgware UK News

A man has been arrested after Jewish worshipers had eggs thrown at them.

Police say that over the past two Saturdays, March 12 and 18, there have been reports of Jews being attacked with eggs outside Edgware synagogues.

According to the Met, a silver Ford Mondeo car had a number of passengers driving around Hale Lane, which is believed to be the source of the attack.

The force said that although there were no serious injuries, the anti-Semitic hate crime was “incredibly distressing”.

The Community Security Trust, a charity supporting the Jewish Company, acknowledged on March 20 that it had heard of eggs being thrown “over the past two weekends”.

A number of witnesses have already given statements and footage of the incidents, but police are still keen to hear from anyone else who can help with their investigation.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated assault – but has been released on bail pending further investigation.

Anyone with information can call police on 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting CAD7772/12Mar or contact anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
