Bounds Green bowling club destroyed in fire UK News

A fire at a bowling club is being investigated by police and firefighters.

The fire broke out at a disused clubhouse on Blake Road in Bounds Green on the evening of March 19.

London firefighters said six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a bowling club at 6.35pm.

The clubhouse was destroyed by flames, the fire department said, but no injuries were reported.

Station Commander Chris Jenner, who was on the scene, said: “Crews conducted a systematic search of the property and remained on site overnight to mitigate any remaining hot spots.”

The brigade’s 999 control officers took 28 calls for the fire which was brought under control by 8:09 p.m.

Crews from Southgate, Finchley, Tottenham, Stoke Newington and surrounding fire stations attended the scene.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
