Woman dies after being hit by van at Hale Lane in Edgware UK News

A woman has died after being hit by a van in Edgware this morning (March 28).

Emergency services were called to Hale Lane at 7.05am after reporting a collision.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed a pedestrian and a van were involved in the Harvester pub incident.

The London Ambulance Service was present, but police said the pedestrian – a woman in her 50s – died at the scene.

His next of kin have been notified, the Met added.

The driver of the van remained at the scene and is assisting the police in their investigations.

An investigation into the fatal incident has been opened and a road closure has been put in place.

The cordon is at the junction with Deans Lane and several police and ambulance vehicles were present.

A forensic tent was in place outside the Jolly Badger Harvester pub and restaurant.

Several bus lines have been diverted due to the road closure.

Any witnesses to this incident are asked to call the police on 101 quoting CAD 914/28Mar.
