Part of the A21 closed after a “serious collision” Brighton News

PART of the A21 remains closed after a car overturned in the early hours of the morning.

Two fire engines and an air ambulance attended the scene of the ‘serious’ collision, which happened just before 2am along the A21 at Silvermere in Hastings.

Five men were reportedly involved in the single-vehicle crash.

The A21 London Road is closed in both directions as crash investigation work is underway between Church Lane (Robertsbridge) and Silver Hill (Hurst Green).

A diversion is in place on the B2244 from Sedlescombe to Hawkhurst and the A268 on the A21 to Filmwell.

Earlier this morning, East Sussex Fire and Rescue said in a tweet: “Two fire apparatus are dealing with a serious RTC on the A21 at Silvermere, Hastings involving five men.

“Police and ambulance are also at the scene, as well as an air ambulance helicopter. Please avoid the area. »

A National Highways spokesman said Sussex Police, along with Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulances attended the scene of the ‘serious collision’ with National Highways contractors helping to traffic management.
