Police last night (Saturday April 9) confirmed local speculation that an emergency incident where Langdale Road was cordoned off involved the discovery of a man’s body.
Police said: ‘We received a call at 11.37am today over concerns about the welfare of a man at a property on Abbeydale Road in Sheffield. Neighbors said the searched property was an apartment above the shops.
South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said on Twitter at 2pm: ‘Firefighters are currently on an incident in Abbeydale Road, #Sheffield and should be there for the next few hours.
“This is a multi-agency incident with @syptweet (police) and @YorksAmbulance
“Due to heavy traffic in the area, please avoid if possible.”
